The Order of Waiilatpu is a senior honorary. Nominations to The Order of Waiilatpu are made in recognition of excellent scholarship, leadership, initiative, involvement, and service to the college and/or community.

The Student Civic Leadership Awards recognize outstanding student leaders at Washington Campus Coalition member campuses for their work in civic engagement and social entrepreneurship.

December 2021
The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes community-committed students across the nation who are changemakers and public problem-solvers. Being nominated by a faculty member is a testament to the student’s civic leadership and impact outside the classroom at Whitman College, in the Walla Walla community, and beyond.

This award was granted for WhitmanSoWhite! and is given to students with demonstrated leadership skills who wish to implement new projects or learning opportunities that promote compassion in medicine or politics and enrich the campus community.

This is awarded to one senior at Saint Paul Academy and Summit School who shows extraordinary work in art and design. The award states, “Whether you are working in the ceramics studio or the photography lab, you always dig deeply into important topics, revealing new truths along the way. Your work is as beautiful as it is relevant and your dedication to an art practice that spans multiple disciplines has been an inspiration to the community inside the walls of SPA and beyond.”

This award was given for the “I Am” portfolio presented at the 62nd Annual Les Farrington Best 100 Juried Art Exhibition. JCI St. Paul invites high school students to submit original artwork for this show annually. In 2019 over 850 students submitted individual art pieces. Only 100 pieces are chosen to be in the exhibition and considered for awards. Only two pieces or portfolios submitted by high school seniors are chosen for the Juror’s Choice Awards.
